The short version: Pip collects no personal data from your child. Reading happens on the device, progress stays in your own iCloud account, and there are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers of any kind.
Pip ("the app") is a phonics reading game for children, developed and published by Musa Masalla ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app touches and how it is handled.
Pip is designed for children ages 4–7 and complies with the App Store's Kids Category requirements. We do not knowingly collect, store, or transmit any personal information from children. The app contains no advertising, no links out to unfiltered web content, and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Pip listens to your child read words aloud using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio never leaves the iPhone or iPad. No recordings are made, stored, or transmitted anywhere — recognition happens entirely on the device, and only the recognized word (matched against the level's small word list) is used inside the app.
Game progress (XP, coins, completed books, streaks, badges, and similar) is stored locally on the device. If you are signed in to iCloud, progress can optionally sync through your own private iCloud account using Apple CloudKit, so it follows you across your devices. This data lives in your iCloud storage, is encrypted by Apple, and is never visible to us. We operate no servers of our own and never receive your progress data.
Subscriptions (Pip Plus) and story packs are purchased through Apple's StoreKit. All payment information is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store any payment details. Purchase entitlements are verified with Apple on the device.
The optional daily reading reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. It requires no account, sends nothing to any server, and can be turned off at any time in the Parent Dashboard.
Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to delete on request. You can remove all app data at any time by deleting the app from your device, and you can remove synced progress by deleting the app's data from your iCloud account (Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage).
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
