These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Pip, a phonics reading game for children developed and published by Musa Masalla ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who may use Pip

Pip is designed for children ages 4–7 and is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. Purchases and parent-facing settings are protected by a parental gate and require an adult.

2. The app and its content

Pip is an educational game. Its stories, words, and phonics progression are created to support early reading, but the app is provided for entertainment and practice — it is not a substitute for professional instruction or assessment. We may update, add, or change content over time (including new books added regularly for Pip Plus subscribers).

3. Subscriptions and purchases

Pip offers optional purchases, all processed by Apple through the App Store:

Auto-renewal: Pip Plus subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription prices are shown in the app before purchase and may change with notice in the app. You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your device Settings: tap your name → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; no cancellation of the current period is allowed while it is active. Any unused portion of a free trial, if offered, is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.

Restore purchases: if you reinstall the app or switch devices, use "Restore purchases" in the app to restore your entitlements with the same Apple ID.

4. Your account and data

Pip has no accounts of its own. Progress is stored on your device and may sync through your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit). How Apple handles your iCloud data is governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for what Pip itself does and does not collect (the short version: nothing personal, and no audio ever leaves the device).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, bypass the parental gate to enable purchases without authorization, or use the app in any unlawful way.

6. Intellectual property

All content in Pip — characters, stories, artwork, audio, and code — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on your Apple devices.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Educational outcomes vary by child; Pip supports reading practice but makes no specific learning guarantees.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the app if these Terms are breached. You may stop using the app and delete it at any time; subscriptions can be cancelled as described above.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the developer's place of business, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law grants you additional rights.
